In the Black Sea, a fire broke out on the cargo ship Royad Mammadov, which was sailing from the Ukrainian Izmail to the Italian Ravenna. The burning vessel was found near one of the Romanian oil platforms in the economic zone of Romania.

"Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are carrying out a difficult mission to rescue the crew of a ship that sank in the Black Sea. 11 crew members were rescued and are being taken to the hospital. Two victims were also identified," Mediafax reports.

As the Romanian agency suggests, three drones could attack a cargo ship — air and sea. But the authorities do not comment on the reason.

"(Since 2022), cases of violation of airspace by Russian drones have been recorded, as well as the detection of mines drifting in the Black Sea on key trade and energy routes," Reuters noted.

It is known that at 10.37 the Maritime Coordination Center (MRCC) appealed to the Romanian Agency for the Rescue of Human Life at Sea (ARSVOM) with a request to conduct a rescue mission on the ship. At that time it was 20 miles from the coast and 9 miles from the Chaika oil platform.

"The vessel was drifting in the exclusive economic zone of Romania, moving under the influence of sea currents in a southerly direction towards the exclusive economic zone of Bulgaria," Mediafax reports.

Vessels came out to the vessel on board of which there was a fire and a Black Hawk military helicopter took off.

The Bulgarian Navy has issued a warning to ships passing in the region regarding the presence of a dangerous and unmanned vessel in the specified area, the agency writes.

According to AIS courts, "Royad Mammadov" came from the Ukrainian Izmail. At the same time, the 139-meter vessel had a maximum draft of 4.6 meters, which indicates that it was loaded. It was planned that on October 12 the ship would arrive in Ravenna, Italy. According to Equasis, it is operated by Istanbul-based Spring Marine Denizcilik.
