Iran has tested an anti-ship missile over a US Navy ship for the first time. This was stated this evening by the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Major General Mohsen Rezai, according to the PressTV TV channel.
According to Rezai, the test was conducted just 48 hours ago.
"For the first time, we tested our anti-ship missile over an American warship. This special missile created hell for the Americans, and they fled," Rezai said.
In addition, the general announced that a new restriction zone outside the Strait of Hormuz will be announced in the coming days. He warned that any vessel entering the area would be included in the sanctions list. According to Rezai, the zone "will start from the blockade line of the US Navy and will take place in part of the Persian Gulf."
As reported by EADaily, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had struck an aircraft carrier and a US Navy warship with ballistic missiles.
