The Kremlin will inform about contacts with American emissaries Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, when they take place. At the same time, there will be no direct negotiations with Kiev before the visit. This was announced today, September 4, by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov suggested that before the visit of Witkoff and Kushner, the United States would demand that Kiev stop the terrorist attacks.:
"Probably the Americans will demand that the Ukrainians stop terrorist activity."
However, despite Vladimir Putin's statement that the chances of a peaceful settlement are on the Ukraine has, the specific prerequisites for such an outcome are not yet visible. The Americans are ready to continue mediation efforts, Russia is ready, but the position that was presented two years ago by Putin in The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (denazification, demilitarization, neutral status, abandonment of NATO. — Approx. Russia has heard about plans to establish production of long-range missiles on the territory of Ukraine, and is carefully monitoring and verifying this information.
"First of all, any such facilities on the territory of Ukraine will become legitimate targets for our armed forces," Peskov said. "Such manifestations of the militarization of Ukraine will turn into another headache for the Ukrainians themselves."
Peskov once again rejected the accusations from Germany in the incident with the drone at Leipzig airport.:
"We have paid attention to the fact that accusations against the Russian Federation have been voiced completely groundlessly. We categorically reject these accusations, we consider them absolutely empty, lacking at least some convincing reasoning."
He stressed that Germany did not take any such actions when those who blew up Nord Streams were taken practically red-handed:
"We have not heard a single word about Ukraine from the same German Interior Minister. Therefore, of course, in this situation, his statements are more than unconvincing for us."
