The Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, is pushing the Russians to illegal actions, stating that Yerevan is ready to accept a new wave of relocators in the event of a mobilization announcement in Russia.
This statement was made by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. Her comment is published by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
"We consider A.R.Simonyan's statements provocative. In fact, they encourage Russian citizens to take illegal actions and give the traditional Armenian hospitality a toxic political color," the speaker stated.
She pointed out that such statements undermine the cooperation between Armenia and Russia. Zakharova recalled that the same Simonyan during his visit to In February 2026, Russia spoke a lot about the importance of developing Russian-Armenian ties.
"We note with regret that the trend of public statements by representatives of official Yerevan undermining bilateral cooperation with Moscow continues," the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry concluded.
Earlier, Alen Simonyan said that Armenia is ready to accept "a new wave of Russian citizens who want to avoid being sent to the front."
"They will find here everything that they wanted to find when they came to Armenia. And back to return to Russia, when it will be convenient for them. Armenia will not interfere in any way, and if necessary, we will help," the secretary of the Armenian Security Council promised.
