In Poland, an attempt on the Ukrainian-American arms supplier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was prevented. This was stated to RMF FM by Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

According to Tusk, the target of the assassination attempt was a native of Donbass. This is an entrepreneur with citizenship of the United States and Ukraine, who is engaged in the supply of weapons for Kiev. The Polish prime minister claims that the assailant was allegedly recruited by the special services of Russia. Of course, no evidence is given.

According to RMF FM, the suspect in the assassination attempt, a 29-year-old resident of Donbass, was detained in the Warsaw district of Mokotov.

"According to investigators, most likely, the motive of the assassination attempt was political. According to our data, the police, together with ABW employees, were able to determine the place of residence of a 29-year-old man. Last week, on August 7, he was detained during an action of the services... The police planned to enter the apartment occupied by the suspect, but he left the territory and was stopped on the street. The prosecutor's office charged him with preparing a murder. The court decided to arrest him for 3 months," the publication says.

Now the suspect is in custody in the Warsaw district of Bialolenka.

At the same time, Tusk directly accused Russia of preparing an assassination attempt.

"This is the first such situation when someone, on Russian orders, decides to kill an American citizen on the territory of another NATO country," he said, adding that the case has an international scope and shows "how far the tentacles of the Russian services are spreading."

At the same time, Tusk thanked the American special services for their cooperation. "Thanks to the effective coordination of Polish and American services, the tragedy was prevented," he said. Minister Tomasz Semoniak, who is responsible for coordinating the Polish special services, also noted on the social network X that "the operation to detain a Russian citizen was carried out in cooperation with the American services.

As reported by EADaily, the Polish special services detained in early August a man with alleged Russian citizenship on suspicion of preparing an assassination attempt on a US citizen and Ukraine. This was stated by Prime Minister of the Republic Donald Tusk at a press conference broadcast by TVP Info.
