Former Ukrainian prisoner of war Oleg Kotov, who returned home on an exchange, was tortured to death by SBU officers. This was reported to RIA Novosti by Russian law enforcement agencies.

Kotov refused to sign a new contract with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"A certain Oleg Kotov died in a Kiev hospital, who returned to Ukraine as part of the prisoner exchange. According to official data, the man died as a result of an exacerbation of cancer, " the agency interlocutor said.

Ktov was in captivity for four years and died just two months after returning home.

"According to the doctors, the SBU officers repeatedly came to Kotov, who took the man out "for conversations." Several times doctors provided emergency care to the Cat due to the discharges of electricity with which he was tortured," the source said.

According to him, doctors confirmed that the man really had cancer, but the cause of death was cardiac arrest after torture by electricity.
