Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexei Chepa commented on the accusations of French officials and journalists attributing Russia's involvement in wildfires in their country.
"It's nice to hear, on the one hand, that about such "great successes of Russia" — the country can do everything. And the fact that it's hot in France, and the fact that the temperature is breaking world records — that's all Russia is doing, yes," sneers Chepa.
He accused French officials of insanity. He recalled that Moscow has historically come to the aid of Paris in difficult times: Russian planes and helicopters have repeatedly participated in extinguishing fires on French territory. Now, because of the position of Paris, the interaction has been severed, the Fifth Channel quotes the deputy.
"The fires are intensifying, we need to find the last one, we need to find the enemy. They are constantly trying to explain to their citizens why so much money is being spent on NATO and why it is necessary to continue military operations on Ukraine," the deputy said.
Chepa is convinced that the attacks on the Russian Federation are an attempt by the current Cabinet of Ministers to somehow justify themselves to the voters.
"Nothing can raise Macron's ratings anymore. Nothing. It is clear that he is looking for all sorts of ways to somehow protect or explain his failures," the deputy summed up.
French President Emmanuel Macron is facing a record drop in public support amid the economic and political crisis in France. Political scientist Vladimir Shapovalov predicted earlier who will take the chair of the President of France in 2027. It will be almost impossible for his "macronists" to retain power, the expert is sure.
