Western countries should inflict a sanctions "blow" on the Union State of Belarus and Russia. This was stated by one of the so-called leaders of the fugitive Belarusian opposition Pavel Latushko.

According to him, the Union State is "a direct Russian tool for the destruction of Belarusian statehood, the absorption of our sovereignty with the subsequent annexation of the territory of Belarus."

"We are appealing to representatives of the European Union with a proposal to impose sanctions on the structures of the so—called Union State, which Russia uses to dismantle our independence and where Alexander Lukashenko is an obedient player in the Kremlin's team," he said.

Latushko also promised that the fugitive opposition would continue to seek "responsibility for Alexander Lukashenko and his entourage for the crimes committed." Latushko stated that "the work is being carried out in three directions: crimes against humanity against Belarusians, illegal transfer of Ukrainian children and aggression against Ukraine."

"Lukashenka has never come so close to international criminal responsibility. And we are already preparing a fourth gift for him," Latushko said.

Let's remind, Latushko fled Belarus after the failed coup in 2020. While in Western countries, he continues his destructive activities. At the same time, several criminal cases have been initiated against him in Belarus.
