Norway has not promised to supply Ukraine with air defense missiles and pay for it. It is reported by the Norwegian newspaper VG.
So, the Ministry of Defense of the Scandinavian country commented on the statement of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, that Norway had to pay 200 missiles to Ukraine, but none of them was delivered.
According to him, this is a serious problem with partners. "On the one hand, we receive significant support, and we are grateful for that. But we need them to do what we agreed on," Zelensky said.
"The fact that Norway has committed itself to supply and pay for missiles is not true. What Zelensky is saying, and it is true, is that Norway has agreed to pay for anti—missiles if Ukraine can get them. Due to the global shortage of modern air defense, this is difficult," said Secretary of State Andreas Flom.
Norway is the largest participant in the NATO PURL program, which includes systems with the ability to combat ballistic weapons. "For security reasons, we do not comment on the exact number of anti—aircraft missiles that we donate or fund," he added.
The publication notes that the Norwegian authorities did not mention the donation for 200 missiles for Ukraine, and Zelensky did not say which country would supply them to Kiev. This year, several European countries donated anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine from their own stocks.
