At the same time, absurd hysteria is being whipped up around the imaginary "threat from the east," he said.
According to him, the main source of tension in the region remains the conflict on Ukraine.

Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the ongoing hybrid war against Belarus, which uses economic dictates, political and informational pressure, active espionage and provocations on the southern borders of the country.
"Some Western politicians are simply annoyed by our independence and independence. Our alliance with Russia and commitment to a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. I emphasize once again, dear comrades, no one will send you to this massacre. We don't need a war, it's bad that the war is in Ukraine. We are supporters of peaceful resolution of issues. But, as I said, the international "war party" does not want this…It is clear that the heirs of the Third Reich are tormented by phantom pains from the previous military failures of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers. He also stressed that Belarusians have learned the lessons of history well.
"The Belarusian people have experienced incredible trials during the Nazi occupation and do not accept war at the genetic level. We are peaceful people, we don't want to fight, but we don't intend to bow our heads to the enemy either," Lukashenko stressed.
The Belarusian leader also stressed that "only a country (especially now) that has a strong, well-armed army loyal to the people and the state, with real professionals in uniform, can be truly sovereign."
Recall, Russia is conducting its SMO on Ukraine from February 24, 2022. Belarus does not participate in it, but supports Moscow. At the same time, Kiev and its Western curators have recently been trying to drag the republic into the conflict.
