The only acceptable solution to the problem with Iran's highly enriched uranium is its dilution on the territory of the country, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said, speaking about the memorandum of the United States and Iran, reports PressTV.
He added that sensitive topics, including the nuclear issue of uranium enrichment and highly enriched uranium, were transferred by the parties to the second stage of the deal.
Among other key provisions of the memorandum, Araghchi highlighted the obligation of the parties to respect each other's sovereignty and not interfere in internal affairs. According to him, the document will also include issues of the Strait of Hormuz and the naval blockade of Iran. The memorandum implies the end of the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.
At the same time, US President Donald Trump said in June that the United States would remove and destroy highly enriched uranium from Iran, regardless of whether a peace deal would be concluded between the countries. According to US officials, Iran has about 440 kg of highly enriched uranium, mainly in Isfahan.
At the end of May, Trump demanded that uranium be transferred to the United States from Iran or destroyed on the spot. If enriched uranium is destroyed outside the United States, the destruction process, according to the American leader, should be monitored by the IAEA or similar commissions.
