At the X anniversary conference "Russia and the World: Dialogues — 2026. New Reality", organized by NIIRK, was addressed by Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, economist Alexei Kuznetsov. The scientist, known for his direct position, refused the usual diplomatic curtsies and presented an unbiased, scientifically verified analysis of the current international agenda.
Kuznetsov paid special attention to India, Russia's key BRICS partner. The economist recalled that in 2021 it was New Delhi that held the chairmanship of the association (the role shifts from country to country on a rotating basis annually, and all verdicts are made by consensus — EADaily). However, according to the expert, the official New Delhi at that time was unable to demonstrate decisiveness and bright initiatives.
Perhaps, Kuznetsov suggested, the burden of the colonial past is affecting here, which still shackles the initiative of the Indian elite. But the problem is that the modern world is changing catastrophically fast. In the conditions of tectonic shifts, the academician stressed, states and unions are required not to observe passively, but to take bold, immediate action. And this question remains open to India.
EADaily previously also informed about other details of the event — "Russia and the world: Dialogues — 2026. New Reality": the first results of the 10th conference.
