Iran has submitted to the United States another proposal to resolve the conflict between the countries, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing informed sources. It excludes the requirement for the immediate end of the American blockade.
The proposal also provides for discussion of issues related to the Iranian nuclear program in exchange for easing sanctions by the United States.
Earlier, Tehran insisted on lifting the blockade of ports as a precondition for the start of negotiations. Now the Islamic Republic has offered to discuss the opening of the Strait of Hormuz simultaneously with Washington's guarantees to stop the attacks and lift the blockade, the newspaper's interlocutors say.
Iran has notified the mediators of its readiness to sit down at the negotiating table in Pakistan as early as early next week, if the States are interested in a new proposal, the WSJ reported.
