The United States can achieve a complete change of power in Iran through "strategic patience." This is reported by the Financial Times (FT), citing the words of an ex-CIA officer who worked in the Middle East.

According to the expert, historical experience shows that covert operations can lead to the overthrow of regimes and ensure the formation of a stable political system. In this connection, the ex-CIA officer advised Washington to focus on the gradual weakening of Tehran's potential and avoid a large-scale campaign to change the regime so as not to aggravate the mood of the country's civilian population.

"A more reasonable course is strategic patience: to continue to weaken the regime's lethal capabilities for a while, but to reduce the intensity of the bombing at the first opportunity," he said.

Recall, on February 28, the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran. However, Washington failed to achieve a complete change of power. According to a number of media reports, many intelligence reports contain "consistent analysis indicating that the regime is not in danger of collapse" and it "retains control over the Iranian population."
