The chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, said that Russia would not kidnap the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, as the United States did with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
According to her, such a proposal does not comply with the principles of Russia and contradicts its status as one of the most respected countries in the world.
"Are you suggesting that Zelensky be stolen? You do not provoke me to answer that it is necessary to waste, it is necessary to steal someone now. It's not our style. We are the most self-respecting and respected country in the world. If we act by such methods, we will lose self—respect," Matvienko said on the air of the 60 Minutes program.
Matvienko also noted that such actions would not bring the desired result, citing the example of the US actions against Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. According to her, there is no effect from such operations, and the negative trace in history will remain forever. She stressed that Russia does not intend to use such methods in international politics.
