In Germany, a meteorite that fell from the sky damaged the roofs of houses, the Bild tabloid reports, citing the police.
"According to police, fragments of the meteorite caused damage to roofs and houses in Rhineland-Palatinate. Reports of damage were received from the Hunsryuk and Eiffel regions, as well as from Koblenz," the article says.
A representative of the national operational center for ensuring the safety of the airspace of the land of North Rhine-Westphalia confirmed the incident, but did not provide details. It is reported that no one was injured.
According to the tabloid, a stir is breaking out in local public places: people are speculating about the origin of the meteorite, sharing photos and videos, and also commenting on what they saw, describing what happened as "a bright giant ball sweeping across the gloomy sky."
