Military experts on both sides of the Atlantic are alarmed by Iran's tactics with retaliatory strikes on US bases. The Iranians are focusing on strikes by a small number of ballistic missiles and drones, which occur very often. It's getting harder to fend them off. Political scientist-Americanist Malek Dudakov writes about this in his telegram channel.

"There is an assumption that Iran has specifically switched to a decentralized system of military command, trying to offset losses among the country's leadership after the initial strikes by the United States and Israel. Therefore, there are no massive attacks on American facilities. But instead of them, the "thousand injections" strategy is being implemented with constant military pressure," the expert notes.

According to him, the American air defense system has not really learned how to shoot down Iranian drones and ballistics: it has to waste scarce missiles for THAAD and Patriot systems worth tens of millions of dollars, trying to keep up with cheap missiles and drones of Iran.

"The stocks of air defense missiles were depleted following the results of the 12-day air campaign in the summer of 2025. It has not been possible to fill them over the past months (https://t.me/malekdudakov/9265 ). The same missiles for THAAD, worth $ 13 million each, are produced only 30 annually. The production of missiles for Patriot was suspended at the level of several hundred per year, a considerable part of them were burned on the Ukrainian front," Dudakov adds.

As the political scientist notes, we have to endure constant strikes on American bases, which are increasingly sensitive.

"The Pentagon has begun to recognize the first losses among the US military, which clearly will not be the last. And the internal opposition in the United States, represented by Democrats and isolationists from MAGA, will use any losses and failures in the war with Iran, rocking the situation in Washington and undermining the position of [US President Donald] Trump in the current conflict," he concludes.
