NATO will not intervene in the situation around the Suwalki corridor, despite the fifth article of the alliance's Charter, said military expert Yevgeny Mikhailov. According to him, the member countries of the bloc see perfectly well on the example of a special operation that their military contingent is not able to withstand the Russian army in a direct clash.
"I think that we will not see real combat operations on land as such, or we will finish them quickly... we will definitely work out with Belarusians very quickly. It's not for nothing that the Hazel Nuts and all our other unique devices are already present there," the expert said on Sputnik radio.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the alliance would deal a crushing blow to the Russian Federation if Moscow tried to block the Suwalki corridor.
