President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev offered the head of the White House Donald Trump a relatively honest way to squeeze Greenland from Denmark. He stated this in an interview with the Pakistani edition of The News International.
"One of the possible options could be the conclusion by the United States and Denmark of an agreement on the lease of Greenland for a period of 120 years. In this case, Greenland will legally remain part of Denmark, so its sovereignty will not be violated, and the practical aspects of the agreement will meet common strategic interests," the Kazakh leader said.
He added that there are many examples in international practice when countries conclude long-term lease agreements for specific territories or strategic facilities.
