"As soon as on Ukraine will have peace, Ukraine will have war": what Rutte said in Kiev

Political scientist Alexander Nosovich was "struck by today's words" of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in the Verkhovna Rada. Although, the political scientist noted, it would seem that arrogance can strike even more?

"And yet it was strong. The minute the peace agreement is concluded, NATO planes will appear in the skies over Ukraine, NATO troops will appear on Ukrainian soil, and NATO ships will appear in the Black Sea. Well, how is NATO? Those NATO countries that agree. Coalitions of the willing. Bluffing is not bluffing (rather, the first plus provokes), but the signal is powerful. As soon as on Ukraine will have peace, Ukraine will have war. The world on We will not allow Ukraine. Only war!" — Nosovich commented on Rutte's statement.

And all this, the political scientist added, to the great delight of the grateful listeners in the hall under the dome.

"Why do they really need peace? They earn money from the war," he said.

As EADaily reported, speaking in Parliament on February 3, Rutte said that as soon as a peace agreement was signed, Kiev would receive military support from "those countries that agreed" in the form of troops, aircraft and fleet. At the same time, other NATO members "will help in a different way" — he did not specify exactly how.

Rutte noted that NATO has supplied Ukraine with 90% of air defense systems since the summer of 2025, as well as 75% of the missiles required by Ukraine. In addition, Western countries have already agreed on a plan for Russia's military response if it violates the peace treaty — the "coalition of the willing" will begin hostilities in 72 hours.
