Ukraine is not responsible for its attacks on the vital infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) for Kazakhstan and does not give any guarantees that this will not happen again. This conclusion follows from an interview with the publication "Ulys media" of the Ukrainian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Viktor Maiko.
"Ukraine has not officially assumed responsibility for these damages that happened to the CPC. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has officially stated that it is not responsible for this attack," the diplomat said.
When asked about guarantees that this will not happen again, the ambassador replied that the guarantee can be in one case — the end of the war.
"I understand the sensitivity of this topic and I understand very well the dependence of the export-oriented economy of Kazakhstan. 52% of Kazakhstan's total exports are oil, most of which goes through CPC. The destruction of one of the berths is a serious blow to export opportunities, and we all understand this. <> I just want to say that Ukraine has officially commented that it bears no responsibility for this attack on the CPC," the ambassador further said.
