By the decision of the justice of the peace of the district No. 1 of the Medvezhegorsk district of Karelia, pensioner Galina Ispodina, 64, received an administrative fine in the framework of a case on violation of the procedure for using state symbols. According to Article 17.10 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, the anthem of Russia also belongs to such symbols, at the sounds of which Galina did not get up.
But the citizen did not agree with the fine, because, according to her, she could not get up because of her health condition. Recently, Surreptitiously underwent surgery.
The incident with the pensioner and the anthem dates back to September 30, 2025. It happened at the session of deputies of the district of the republic. The text of the corresponding publication of the local media says that Galina "refused to get up during the performance of the anthems of Russia and Karelia" and continued to "sit with her face buried in the phone."
