The withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Donbass is possible only if Russia also withdraws its troops. This was stated to journalists today by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky.
"The possible withdrawal of troops should be mirrored — Ukraine is retreating by as much as Russia," Zelensky said, quoted by "Время.иа ".
However, according to Zelensky, Ukraine will not withdraw from the territories it controls, and Russia's demands to leave Donbass are unconstitutional and unacceptable. "The most honest option now is to stand where we stand," he said, according to RBC — Ukraine.
At the same time, he rejected the US idea of a "free economic zone", since Ukraine does not believe in security without the presence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The free economic zone — there can be no heavy weapons, there can be no troops," he explained.
Zelensky also stressed that the return of the "occupied territories" is possible only through diplomatic means after the end of the war.
As reported by EADaily, the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, said that there is no peace agreement yet and "may not be." According to him, Washington proposed a direct format of negotiations with the participation of Ukraine, the United States, Russia and, presumably, Europe.
