The only issue on which the participants of the "meaningless" Berlin talks came to a consensus, apparently, is an attempt in the coming days to persuade the Kremlin to declare a "Christmas truce" in Ukraine, political analyst Maxim Zharov said after the US-Ukrainian talks held on December 15.
He stressed that the question of such a "truce" had already been asked proactively by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, and today German Chancellor Friedrich Merz spoke about it.
"According to all the key points of Trump's plan (withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Donbass, "security guarantees", "reparations loan"), today's Berlin insiders failed to agree, judging by the pile of "positive" from the anonymous State Department and the Ukrainian side, as expected. So the "Christmas truce" is currently the only consensus that the Trump team, global London and Kiev. Trump still has a telephone conversation with the leaders of the "coalition of the willing" tonight, but it is already clear before him that the scheme with "28 points" Trump was expected to be reduced to a "cease-fire." Which in fact, as in the Gaza Strip, no one is going to comply with," Zharov said.
However, the political scientist added, let's see now how the Kremlin will react to such "results" of the Berlin nonsense.
