In Riga, activists are sounding the alarm because of hordes of rats attacking the city. This is reported by local media.
It is reported that for at least two years residents of the city have been facing an increase in the population of rats and mice. At the same time, a dangerous infection, leptospirosis, which is most often carried by local rodents, is spreading more and more actively in Riga. In this regard, the collection of signatures for limiting the spread of rodents began in the capital of Latvia. Moreover, the authors of the initiative believe that one of the reasons for the increase in the population is the installation of bio—waste containers in the capital - organic waste attracts animals that easily gnaw through them.
