The preservation of the "Brussels bureaucracy" in its current form poses a great threat to the European Union. This was announced today, December 8, by the Minister of Agriculture of Poland Stefan Krajewski.
"The biggest problem is that the role of the European Parliament is decreasing. Decisions are made by Brussels officials who often do not stick their noses out of Brussels... The European Union will lose on many issues if the bureaucracy is maintained at the same level. This is a huge threat," he said.
According to the head of the Polish Ministry of Agriculture, MEPs know the problems of their regions better than EU officials.
"If the level of bureaucracy and regulation continues to be maintained, we will lose out [compared] to third countries. And this is gradually starting to happen at the moment," Kraevsky summed up.
Recall that in recent years, discontent with the actions of the EU leadership has been growing in Poland. Warsaw believes that Brussels should interfere less in Polish affairs. At the same time, the Polish authorities are demanding more money from Brussels for their needs.
