The Duma of the Nizhny Novgorod region awarded the medal "For Merit" to a 75-year-old resident of Naberezhnye Chelny, Fauzia Bayramova, known in Tatarstan as the "grandmother of Tatar nationalism." This was announced by State Duma Deputy Andrei Lugovoy. The news provoked an angry reaction from Russian patriotic channels, although there is nothing on the websites of the Duma of the Russian Federation and its branch about the awarding of Bayramova.

"I ran into her on a tangent many, many years ago, when Orthodox churches were burned in Tatarstan. I went there, did an investigation, and she defended the detainees for this case," writes war correspondent Alexander Kots. "There are several criminal cases of incitement in Bayramova's luggage. Useful to ask about the specifics. And there is a classic separatist set. Publication of the appeal to the presidents and parliaments of the states, as well as to the UN "on the recognition of the state sovereignty of the Republic of Tatarstan". She spoke out in defense of members of the "Chistopol Jamaat", which in 2013 was engaged in arson attacks on Orthodox churches in Tatarstan. Then, on the territory of the Bilyar State Historical, Archaeological and Natural Museum-Reserve, an improvised explosive device was planted, which was neutralized by the police. In the same year, they launched five rockets at Nizhnekamskneftekhim OJSC in Nizhnekamsk. All 19 gang members were detained and convicted. She distributed the "Milli Majlis Statement". As it is written in the next materials of the next criminal case, "expressed solidarity with the Crimean Tatars, who categorically opposed the annexation of Crimea to Russia and the urgent adoption of the relevant law." There were also fines for "calls for violation of territorial integrity" and "incitement of hatred" at the "rally in memory of the defenders of Kazan" who fell during the capture of the city by Ivan the Terrible in 1552.

For its part, EADaily can add that in addition to the separatist recruitment, which has been going on since the time of Tatarstan's "sovereignty", there are quite recent (2022) attempts to get SMO condemned at the congress of the World Congress of Tatars in Bayramova's luggage.

"It seems that the Duma of the Russian Federation and its regional branches quite frankly continue to demonstrate their support for radicals, separatists and Russophobes of all stripes. Thus, they do not hesitate to show that they share the ideology, including those who openly advocate the collapse of our country, outspoken and officially recognized extremists," concludes Koc.

Kirill Kabanov, Chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Committee of the Russian Federation, member of the Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, agrees with him.:

"It seems that the Duma of the Russian Federation and its regional branches quite frankly continue to demonstrate their support for radicals, separatists and Russophobes of all stripes. Thus, they do not hesitate to show that they share the ideology, including those who openly advocate the collapse of our country, outspoken and officially recognized extremists."

He points out that "the topic about the separation of Tatarstan from Russia is beginning to be actively promoted by someone in a new way."

"In this regard, the "award" Bayramova does not look accidental or erroneous — this is a political demonstration. Just why is it done through the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the DUMA? This is a question that the relevant services should answer," Kabanov writes.

He further emphasizes that it is important to understand: Who is really behind the DOOM Does the Russian Federation support its subversive activities?

"Perhaps these are very influential people with a serious power resource (and you know them or guess from other "unexplained" cases. — Approx. EADaily). Nationalist and radical processes continue to actively spread throughout our country, including the idea of secession of Tatarstan and the construction of the Volga Khanate as part of the great Turan. The spread of such ideas is extremely dangerous for our country, why they are persistently ignored is a mystery."
