The recent two-day trip of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India showed the futility of the West's attempts to isolate Russia. This was stated by The Sunday Times columnist Mark Galeotti.
"While disagreements arise in Europe itself and [in relations] between Europe and the United States [regarding Ukraine], Putin highlights the failure of Western efforts to isolate Russia. On Thursday, he arrived on a state visit to India. He was greeted with great fanfare and fanfare, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi hugged him," Galeotti writes, quoted by TASS.
Putin believes that he is winning his war with the West and, perhaps, he is right, the observer notes.
As reported by EADaily, the British The Sun was outraged at how warmly the Russian leader was greeted in India. Journalists listed posters with Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, photos, joint statements and press conferences.
"Putin is welcomed in India as a God," wrote The Sun.
Putin arrived in New Delhi on December 4 and stayed there for two days.
