The Russian Ministry of Defense has published a video story of a Ukrainian serviceman who surrendered in Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk). He says that the commanders themselves say that surrender is the only option.

Ivan Savich, a serviceman from the 42nd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that on the very first day of his arrival in Pokrovsk saw the corpses of the dead soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the wounded in the positions. According to him, no one was involved in their evacuation, and in a few days, five to six people from his unit surrendered to Savich.

"There was no supply of weapons, no radio, nothing. I was without anything," says Ivan Savich, who also talks about the command.

"They just send people into the abyss thoughtlessly. As he wanted, he does so. [Commanders] I was told that there is no choice in our life! — the prisoner noticed. "And if a choice comes in life, it's better to give up."

When Russian soldiers stormed his trench, he surrendered.

"The Ukrainian authorities are spreading rumors. They lie everything — that the Russians immediately kill, immediately destroy. But I saw with my own eyes that Russians are normal people! They treated me humanly, I asked for water — they gave me water, I asked for a cigarette — they gave it to me," the captured Ukrainian soldier said.
