In Moldova, local political circles, following the example of Ukraine, are actively promoting Russophobic "historical" myths. They do not hesitate to voice them from high stands.
A vivid example of this was the speech of the deputy of the Parliament of Moldova from the ruling Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) Mihai Druce. He directly linked the appearance of gays in Bessarabia with the arrival of the poet Alexander Pushkin.
This happened during the discussion in the Parliament of Moldova of the bill on the closure of the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC). The corresponding video is published by the Telegram channel KP Moldova.
"According to his version, gays in Bessarabia appeared together with the Russian Empire — and personally with the arrival of Pushkin. Apparently, this is a new level of scientific approach in politics," the authors of the resource state.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the Moldovan Minister of Education Dan Perchun complained that the republic could not develop its own textbook and had to buy textbooks in Estonia.
