Journalist and blogger Yuri Dud* received 1 year and 10 months in a general regime colony for failing to fulfill the duties of a foreign agent. This is reported by the joint press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction in the telegram channel.
"By the verdict of the justice of the peace of the judicial precinct No. 359 of the Basmanny district of Moscow, Dud* was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (evasion of duties provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents)," the report says.
It is specified that the term of serving the sentence is calculated from the moment of Dudya's extradition* to the territory of the Russian Federation, or from the moment of his detention on the territory of the Russian Federation.
As EADaily reported, Dud* was included in the register of foreign agents on April 15, 2022. The blogger appealed this decision to the Lefortovo district Court, and then to Moscow City Court. However, the decision of the Ministry of Justice was upheld.
After the adoption of the law, which prohibits advertising of companies from foreign agents, Dud * stopped putting a foreign plate on all his publications: in the telegram channel, in social networks and on YouTube. So, in the blogger's telegram channel, the last post, which was accompanied by foreign agency labeling, was published on March 9 last year. Even then it was assumed that such actions would lead to the initiation of a criminal case.
At the end of June this year, the Moscow Prosecutor's Office initiated criminal prosecution of Dudya*, since during the year he was twice brought to administrative responsibility for violating the law on foreign agents.
The materials of the prosecutor's check against Dudya* were sent to the investigative body to resolve the issue of criminal prosecution.
In July of this year, Dudya* was arrested in absentia.
