Poland may open two checkpoints on the border with Belarus after November 15. This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Lithuania Vladislav Kondratovich.
"I spoke with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Poland last week. They planned to open these points on November 1, but out of solidarity with Lithuania they didn't do it.…Most likely, this will happen after November 15th or after November 20th. I think it will definitely happen," he said.
At the same time, Kondratovich stressed that the countries of the region need to act together in response to the current situation with the closure of the Lithuanian-Belarusian border.
"We must look at the situation together, together, as a region, respond to this hybrid pressure from Belarus. We have to coordinate actions," Kondratovich said.
In October, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced plans to open two new checkpoints with Belarus in November. However, after Lithuania's decision to close the border, Warsaw's plans were revised.
