The head of a large construction company in Stary Oskol was taken into custody on charges of bribing an official in the amount of at least 18 million rubles, according to the prosecutor's office of the Belgorod region, according to a RIA Novosti source, we are talking about the honored builder of Russia Karl Loor.
The investigation believes that the accused, through an intermediary, handed over as a bribe a comfortable apartment worth at least 18 million rubles to an official of the administration of the Starooskolsky city district. The bribe was intended for the unhindered operation of a real estate construction company.
"By the Prosecutor's Office of G. Belgorod supported the petition of the investigative body on the election of a preventive measure against the head of a large construction organization. He is charged under Part 5 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (giving a bribe on an especially large scale) ...The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of up to 15 years in prison. The court, agreeing with the position of the prosecutor, chose a preventive measure against him in the form of detention," the telegram channel of the prosecutor's office said.
According to the regional SU SK, the crime committed in December 2018, was revealed thanks to the joint work of investigators UK and FSB officers.
The press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Belgorod region added that a criminal case has also been opened against an official of the administration of the Starooskolsky city district for taking a bribe on an especially large scale.
