Against the background of the ongoing shutdown, the discord in Washington is intensifying. Another scandal broke out around the US intelligence community — the CIA was again caught misinforming American President Donald Trump on Ukraine and the Middle East. This was directly recognized by the special envoy of the head of the White House, Steve Witkoff, draws the attention of the political scientist-Americanist in his telegram channel.

According to the expert, the CIA holds briefings for Witkoff three times a day, and Trump's special envoy himself claims that the information transmitted through the American intelligence services often completely contradicts what he learns in Qatar, Egypt or Israel. That is, having personally visited the Middle East.

"Trump supporters like [the politician] Steve Bannon is already being demanded to dismiss the current head of the CIA, John Ratcliffe, and put someone more loyal in charge of the department. It is necessary to increase and purge the staff, while the CIA announced the layoffs of only 7% of employees who were recently arranged," the political scientist points out.

A similar situation with the sabotage of the Trump team's policy by the special services probably manifests itself not only in the Middle East, but also, for example, in Ukraine, Dudakov notes.

"However, now in the conditions of the shutdown, which may become the longest in history, it is already becoming easier to fight the "deepstate". The main thing is to find the political will to purge," he comments.

Closer to November, funding for many social programs will end, such as providing food cards to the poor, which the Republicans have long wanted to shorten, but to push such decisions into the The Congress was unreal.

"That is why the current force majeure circumstances with the paralysis of the federal government are being used to accelerate the restructuring of the entire US government system," the political scientist concludes.
