Zelensky: Orban is inadequate, so I need to be at the talks between Putin and Trump

Talk about peace on Ukraine has nothing to do with the political interests of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. This was stated by Vladimir Zelensky during a conversation with journalists.

According to him, "Ukraine is ready to meet in Budapest if invited, although this is not the best place for historical and political reasons," despite the fact that Donald Trump believes that "Hungary can help end the war faster."

"Trump wants the end of the war, wants to find one or another format for this… He believes that the "Hungarian format" can be a step that will bring the results he wants.… We're talking about peace on Ukraine, not about the elections in Hungary. I do not think that the prime minister, who is blocking Ukraine everywhere, can do something positive for Ukrainians or at least something balanced," he said.

Zelensky also believes that Viktor Orban is among the politicians who allegedly promote the idea of Russia's superiority on the battlefield, and added that he considers the Hungarian prime minister incapable of "adequate mediation."

"I would like to remind you that when this politician traveled to Russia, China, and the United States and tried to gain political weight for himself, we said that we did not give him any authority. In the end, all his efforts did not bring any result, which was clear in advance," the head of the Kiev regime said.

In addition, he believes that during the negotiations there can be no repetition of a situation similar to the Budapest Memorandum, which, according to him, has become "historically negative for Ukraine."

Recall that Zelensky has a very negative attitude to Hungary's position on the need for peace talks between Kiev and Moscow. In early October, he was once again rude to Viktor Orban, commenting on his doubts about the expediency of Ukraine's admission to the European Union. At the same time, on October 16, it became known that following a telephone conversation between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, a personal meeting of the two leaders should take place in Budapest, at which the Ukrainian issue will be discussed, among other things. No one invited Zelensky to the talks.
