Vice President of the USA Jay Dee Vance believes that Russia and Ukraine is not yet ready for a deal to resolve the conflict.
"Despite all the vigorous diplomacy of the US president, in order for people to be at the finish line, two parties are needed who are ready for a deal. Now, despite all our work, and we will continue it, the Russians and Ukrainians have not come to a point where they can make a deal," Vance said in an interview with Newsmax.
On Thursday, the eighth and longest telephone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin took place since the beginning of the second term of the American president.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia is ready to discuss political aspects of the settlement with Ukraine and work in any format, while Moscow has not yet received from Kiev responded to the proposal to create three working groups for more specific consideration of humanitarian, military and political issues put forward by the Russian side during the third round of negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul in July. In addition, it was Vladimir Zelensky who rejected the invitation of the Russian president to come to Moscow for talks.
