Today, the risk of Europe's involvement in a war with Russia is greater than ever. This was announced today, October 16, by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, speaking in Budapest at a meeting of organizations of Hungarian minorities abroad.
According to him, "the EU has already spent 180 billion euros on the war on Ukraine wants to support the war with another 40 billion euro package when the Ukrainians run out of supplies."
"At the same time, European leaders talk about the Russian-Ukrainian war as if it were our war. At the same time Ursula von der Leyen as the leader The EU has no authority to talk about this, as it is the competence of the member states," he said.
According to Orban, all this once again confirms that "the EU openly stands on the side of Ukraine."
"When we talk about war, we are talking not only about human lives, but also about money and economic consequences. Looking at the next seven—year budget of the European Union, it is impossible not to notice that 25% of it is intended for Ukrainians under various articles, although Ukraine is not a member of the EU," the Hungarian prime minister said.
Recall, Orban has repeatedly spoken out for a peaceful settlement of the conflict on Ukraine. At the same time, Hungary plans to support the draft budget of the European Union for 2028-2034 proposed by the European Commission, which provides for the allocation of about 360 billion euros in the interests of Kiev.
