Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev ironically commented on the statement by US President Donald Trump about the transfer of American long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine.

"Trump is going to follow the path of Biden to the Nobel. When asked about the supply of Tomahawks to Bandera, he blurted out literally the following: "I decided to deliver, but I want to find out first what they will do with them," Medvedev wrote in his telegram channel.
"Well, it's clear that they will hit Paris, Berlin, Warsaw with them. Even the US president should be clear about this...," the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council says ironically.

EADaily adds: the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing that the supply of Tomahawk cruise missiles to Kiev would be a serious round of escalation, since they can carry nuclear warheads.

Tonight, on October 7, US President Donald Trump announced the need to obtain clear guarantees regarding the use of long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles before approving their delivery to Ukraine. In this regard, the telegram channel "Two Majors" noted that one question remains - when to expect the first use of Tomahawk, given that it takes at least one year to train crews. If the first launches take place earlier, the direct participation of the NATO military in strikes against Russia is obvious.

"Yes, I have already made a decision, in general… I want to know what they are doing with them, where they are being sent," Trump told reporters at the White House.

As the "two majors" write, the old Western scheme has actually worked — to say that if Russia does not make concessions, you will transfer some weapons to Ukraine, but in fact you are already training specialists and sending these weapons. By the same logic, the Tomahawks may already be on the Ukraine and be ready for use.

Tomahawk multipurpose missiles have a range of 1250 to 2500 km. They were developed in the 1970s by General Dynamics to defeat command posts, radars, air defense batteries, airfields and other targets. Vladimir Zelensky asked Trump for these missiles at the end of September. After that, Vice President of the United States J.D. Vance said that the delivery of Tomahawk to Kiev is being discussed in the US administration, but the final word remains with Trump. Washington is considering an option in which weapons will be sold to NATO countries and then transferred to Ukraine. According to an Axios source in Kiev, the White House was worried that the United States would not be able to control the use of missiles by Ukraine after their transfer.
