On the evening of October 2, an explosion occurred at the Chevron refinery in El Segundo, California. This was reported by the Los Angeles Times.

After the explosion, a fire started at the enterprise, it could be seen for many kilometers. One of the eyewitnesses of the incident, 34-year-old Mark Rogers, was playing football a few kilometers from the refinery when the explosion occurred.

"I thought we were dropped by a nuclear bomb or something like that," Rogers admitted.

The referee eventually canceled the game a few minutes after the start due to heavy smoke.

The mayor of El Segundo, Chris Pimentel, said that the cause of the explosion of the fire remains unclear. Now the fire is localized, no one was injured.
