The European Union is not using all its capabilities to support the Georgian pro-European opposition, former Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili said, speaking at the Warsaw Security Forum.

According to her, Russia is well-versed in psychological warfare and uses it against neighboring countries.

"The Russian leader is a man of age, and maybe not so old (Salome Zurabishvili herself is 73 years old. — EADaily). He knows what psychological warfare is and uses it. And we are looking at what the European Union, this huge force, can do. We are left with the impression that the EU is not using all its capabilities, is passive, and is waiting for us to solve or solve these challenges. In the case of Georgia, we could not overcome them, because I, as president, did not have executive power to use it, as well as voting rights for the diaspora," Zurabishvili complained.

In addition, in her speech, she spoke about the strategic importance of the Black Sea region for the EU and noted that Europe's strength depends on enlargement.

"A stronger Europe depends on an expansion that includes a new security and defense policy ... In this sense, the Black Sea is a vital part of the expansion. Was Russia part of the old Soviet, post-Soviet space or even before And it is the Black Sea that is a strategic region for the EU today, for NATO, which has developed a new strategy for the security of the Black Sea, as well as for the EU itself," Zurabishvili said.

The ex-president also commented on the statement by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, that Europe had lost Georgia.

"The collective voice The EU does not express a clear position on what is happening, and I slightly disagree with President Zelensky, who said that Georgia was lost in favor of Russia. He exaggerated a little bit, because I think we are not lost yet. The EU can and must do more — both in military support of Ukraine and in political support of us. If this means that the EU must overcome its internal problems and difficulties in decision—making, then this is exactly what we are waiting for and believe in," Zurabishvili said.
