Pigs' heads appeared in front of mosques in Paris, most likely with the assistance of the Russian special services, although the investigation has no evidence. It is reported by the French newspaper Monde, citing sources.
On September 9, Paris police Prefect Laurent Nunez reported that pig heads were found in front of several mosques in the city and suburbs. On one of them was the inscription: "Macron," according to the newspaper Figaro. According to RTL, the police suspect two foreigners who used a car with a Serbian license plate and Croatian phones. As a source in the prosecutor's office told RTL, the suspects "immediately left the country."
"The throwing of nine pig heads in front of mosques in the suburbs of Paris on the night of September 8 was organized by the same person in Serbia. According to a judicial source, an arrest warrant has been issued against this person. This version strengthens suspicions about the Russian military intelligence (GRU)," the publication quoted RIA Novosti as saying.
This version is allegedly supported by intelligence obtained as part of cooperation with other countries, the newspaper notes.
"Justice has no evidence of Russia's involvement at the moment," the newspaper emphasizes.
