The US Democratic Party promoted the idea of a world where white Christian men would not rule. But Donald Trump is "trying to turn back the clock" on this issue. This was stated in an interview with the American television company MSNBC by former Secretary of State and senator who ran for president Hillary Clinton.
"I am proud that our country has always been in the process of formation. We have not yet achieved the "more perfect union" that we dreamed of, and even fought a civil war because of it. For hundreds of years, people have protested, pointing out that reality does not correspond to our ideals and what we should strive for. That's what makes us special as a nation. The idea of turning back time and trying to recreate a world that never existed — a world dominated, let's face it, by white men of certain beliefs, religions, worldviews or ideologies — causes enormous damage to what we should strive for. We were on the way to this goal — albeit imperfectly, with many obstacles. But I agree with you: we were moving in the right direction," Clinton said.
As EADaily reported, former US President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, were summoned to Congress to testify in the Jeffrey Epstein case. In addition to the Clinton couple, former FBI heads James Comey and Robert Mueller, former US Attorneys General Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, William Barr, Jeff Sessions, Alberto Gonzalez and former Attorney General Merrick Garland also received subpoenas.
The hearings will last until mid-October.
