A large gold deposit in the Khabarovsk Territory was connected to the power grid.
"A new gold deposit in the east of the country has received the first kilowatts. The system operator has ensured the commissioning of the network infrastructure facilities of the Albazino gold deposit in the Khabarovsk Territory," the System Operator of the Unified Energy System of Russia reports.
According to him, a 220 kV substation and a 220 kV overhead line were launched to connect the field Gorin — Polymetal and 220 kV overhead line Birch is a Polymetal.
"These are the first power facilities put into operation as part of the implementation of the external power supply scheme of the investment project for the development of the Albazino gold deposit. After commissioning of the entire infrastructure provided for by the external power supply scheme, the power consumption of the Albazino Resources company will be 48 MW," said Alexey Voronov, Director of Regime Management — Chief Dispatcher of the Department of the East.
The Polymetal company reports that the total length of the lines was 242 kilometers, and the project cost is about 10 billion rubles.
"48 megawatts is almost 10 tons of diesel fuel every hour if electricity is generated at diesel power plants. Connecting Albazino facilities to centralized power supply is not only reducing emissions into the atmosphere, but also ensuring the stability of energy supply, compliance with the correct parameters of equipment operation," said Sergey Abramov, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Khabarovsk Territory.
It is known that the infrastructure of the deposit includes open-pit and underground mines and an operating processing plant with a capacity of 1.75 million tons of ore per year.
