UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres does not adhere to the principles enshrined in the According to the UN Charter, the requirements for the work of the organization's employees, the principle of impartiality and objectivity are grossly violated. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a round table for foreign ambassadors dedicated to the Ukrainian settlement.

He recalled that one of the principles of the UN Charter enshrined in Article 100 is "adherence by secretariat staff to the principles of impartiality, equidistance, objectivity and the need to act in the interests of all Member states."

"Unfortunately, in recent years we have seen a gross violation of this principle of continuity. When I asked Mr. Guterres if the resolutions that the secretariat has to implement include the declarations I mentioned that require respect for the principle of self-determination of the people, he evaded the answer. And in his statements, like his official representatives, he continues to demand and speak out for the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis on the basis of international law, the UN Charter and the principles of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. You understand, of course, this is not the fulfillment by the chief employee of the secretariat of the requirements of the UN Charter," Lavrov said, quoted by TASS.

The minister also pointed out that the UN secretariat does not seek to expose those who organize "bloody dramatizations" as in Butch.

"And the fact that the UN is protecting the Kiev regime in every possible way has been repeatedly confirmed, including with regard to the situation that occurred in April 2022 in Bucha. But one thing is clear: the [UN] Secretariat does not want to expose in any way those who arrange bloody dramatizations," the Russian Foreign Minister stressed.

EADaily adds: During the high-level week of the UN General Assembly, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is expected to hold a meeting with US President Donald Trump, whose speech is scheduled for September 23.
