The European Parliament will vote on a vote of no confidence in the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. Speaker Robert Metsola informed the deputies about this, the DPA news agency reports.

We are talking about two petitions against von der Leyen at once — from the right-wing faction "Patriots for Europe" and from The left faction, the agency reports. The submission of two votes of no confidence from opposing political forces at once is an unprecedented event, Politico, in turn, emphasizes.

"A similar vote was already held last summer. In July, Romanian MP Gheorghe Piperi from the European Conservatives and Reformists group accused the European Commission of interfering in the presidential elections in Romania, and also opposed the financing of EU defense spending," the DW* Main telegram channel reminds.

Then the majority of deputies supported von der Leyen and 26 European commissioners. 360 out of 553 voted for, 175 voted against, 18 abstained. Two-thirds of votes are required to express no confidence, the TC notes.

As reported by EADaily, the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen should leave her post because of her militaristic views, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.

He noted that after the incident with drones in Polish airspace, the head of the EC "made a sharp pro-war political speech."
