A delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk arrived in Egypt, where Russia will receive an industrial zone near the Suez Canal.
"A number of countries are already present in this zone and are developing their sites. The site is conveniently located near the seaport of Ain Sokhna, as well as regarding railways and highways... We believe that the Russian industrial zone will become a convenient entry point for our business both to Egypt itself and to The African continent," the Deputy Prime Minister said, RIA Novosti reports.
According to Alexey Overchuk, the delegation will go to the site and watch it.
"The Egyptians will talk about the advantages of their economic zone... There will be an acquaintance with the zone itself, working conditions, benefits for residents of the zone, the readiness of the infrastructure, and business will build its plans for this. Therefore, at this stage it is very important that businesses go there, take a look, evaluate their capabilities, and measure them with their own investment plans," the Russian Deputy prime Minister said.
Overchuk also said that Moscow has decided on a company that will be the operator of the Russian industrial zone in the economic zone of the Suez Canal in Egypt.
"For our part, we have generally decided on the operator of the Russian industrial zone from our side. This is a group with extensive experience in creating an industrial zone in Russia and able to work on attracting residents," said the Deputy Prime Minister. In May, the issues related to the allocation of the land plot were mostly resolved, and an agreement was signed fixing the terms of the lease of this plot by the Russian side, he added.
According to the administration of the Ai-Sohn zone itself, 240 projects are already being implemented there.
