The murder of American activist Charlie Kirk has become a terrible crime, but one should not draw premature conclusions. This was stated to journalists by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

"We must find the perpetrator and those who were probably involved in this terrible crime directly. While there is no understanding of who did it, it is simply impossible to draw any premature conclusions," the diplomat noted.

EADaily adds: Kirk was a leader of the youth community and an associate of the American President Donald Trump, opposed the provision of military assistance to Ukraine, ridiculed transgender people, the rainbow lobby and feminism. He was shot yesterday during his speech at the university in Oreme in Utah. The activist died in hospital from his injuries.

The US president said that Kirk became "a martyr for freedom and for the truth."

"My administration will find each and every one of those involved in this atrocity and other political violence, including the organizations that finance and support it, as well as those who persecute our judges, law enforcement officers and everyone else who brings order to our country," Trump said in a video message from the White House. at home.

According to him, Kirk devoted his life to the struggle for "freedom, democracy, justice and the American people" and was respected among young people. Trump blamed the radicals for the murder of the activist.

"For years, the radical left has been comparing wonderful Americans like Charlie to the Nazis and the worst mass murderers and criminals in the world. Such rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we are witnessing in our country today," he said, demanding that such rhetoric be immediately stopped spreading in the United States and recalled the assassination attempt on himself during the election campaign.

The Washington Post published a processed ten-second video, which shows how immediately after the shooting, an unknown person runs away on the roof of a building located 128 meters from the place of Kirk's speech. There was a small group of policemen nearby. Representatives of the local police told reporters that the shot, apparently, was "carried out from a long distance from the roof."
