Lawyer Elena Liptser, who defended the ex-head of Menatep Platon Lebedev in the Yukos trial, died in Moscow at the age of 59.

According to RBC, information about her death was confirmed by the bar association "Liptser **, Stavitskaya and partners." It is reported that the lawyer passed away on the evening of September 5 after a long illness.

Recall that Elena Liptser** is the daughter of human rights activist Lev Ponomarev*. She started her legal practice in 1997. Worked in In the Constitutional Court, she also represented Platon Lebedev in the Yukos case. He is the co-author of the book "International Protection of Human Rights".

Her son Alexei Liptser * * is also a lawyer, was one of the representatives of the defense of Alexei Navalny **.
