Moldova will no longer store gas reserves at Ukraine and Romania. This was stated on TVR Moldova by the director of the state-owned enterprise Energocom, responsible for the procurement of energy resources, Yevgeny Buzatu.
He explained that now blue fuel will be delivered on time and there is no need to accumulate it in foreign storage facilities, which affects the price of end users.
"Energocom has already purchased more than 75% of the gas needed for the period 2025-2026. But now we buy it with delivery on time, that is, with physical delivery in October, November, December and so on. We no longer store it. Routes have become a little more expensive, transport operators have raised transportation costs, and there is no longer that profitability for storage," Buzatu said.
The official added that his company is gradually taking over the responsibilities of billing and working with consumers, but the transition may take a year. While this service will continue to be performed by the former operator — Moldovagaz JSC, which was deprived of its license. According to him, "the difficulties of the transition period will not affect consumers — the only noticeable change for them will be a different logo on the accounts."
Recall, the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) decided to revoke the license of a subsidiary of the Russian Gazprom due to Chisinau's obligations to the energy community. The EU on the implementation of the third energy package. It provides for the division of Moldovagaz into three enterprises: gas supply, transportation and distribution. The company did not fulfill this requirement on time, after which its functions were transferred to Energocom, which has access to the European gas market.
Earlier, the former head of the Ministry of Energy, Viktor Parlikov, claimed that there is enormous corruption in the Moldovan energy sector during procurement, so their details are classified.
As EADaily reported, Moldovan Energy Minister Dorin Jungieto warned that after the procurement process is fully completed, ANRE will once again adjust gas tariffs for the population. During the four years of the PDS in power, the cost of energy resources has increased tenfold. The pro-Western puppet authorities of Chisinau, because of the so-called "European solidarity", refused cheaper Russian gas.
