In the Tver region of Russia, a group of Polish nationalist bikers staged a provocation at a memorial in the village of Mednoye. They opened the barrier without permission and drove into the facility, and then lit torches "in memory of the Poles tortured by the Russians."
The memorial is dedicated to the memory of Soviet citizens — victims of political repression of the 1930s-1950s and executed Polish prisoners of the Ostashkovsky camp of the NKVD of the USSR — policemen, gendarmes, border guards.
According to Izvestia, the action of the Poles turned out to be not so much political as provocative. Without warning anyone about their visit, they filmed everything to show how they care about those who are buried. But at the same time, none of these almost fifty people even tried to at least wash this memorial, on which exclusively Polish surnames are stamped.
They entered the territory of Russia through the border of the Russian Federation with Belarus in Pskov region. The purpose of the trip was tourism.
The police identified all participants of the event. In respect of 39 Polish citizens, protocols on an administrative offense have been drawn up under Part 2 of Article 18.8 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, according to the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Tver region. Also, in relation to them, "a decision was made to ban entry into the territory of the Russian Federation for a period of 5 years."
